PRESCHOOLERS
Spring Hill values every child who attends our services. Safety and security are a primary concern when providing for our children - especially preschoolers. On Sunday mornings coordinators and their assistants are available to help children settle in for active fun and learning about God. Our coordinators and teachers will assist you in finding the right class for your preschooler according to their activity level (crawling, walking, etc.) and birth month/year. This works best for all children involved. If you have questions, please direct them to Carole Hegwood, Children’s Minister.
Due to the varying number of children needing care for Sundays and Wednesdays, assigned classrooms will vary. You can help your preschooler and our staff by preparing your child for seeing different faces in different places. It will be very helpful if you will label all personal items (bottles, cups, clothing, blankets, pacifiers).
Nursery for children age 3 and younger...
Child care is provided during every worship service beginning 15 minutes before the service. Please be sure your child is fed and freshly diapered before leaving them in the nursery. We will gladly administer additional bottles and change diapers as needed while they are in our care. Be sure to inform our Children's Minister of allergies or special needs your child may have.
Preschoolers 4 and up . . .
When children are promoted into the 4-year-old Sunday Morning Bible Fellowship class they begin attending worship with their family. To help them, we provide a Worship Orientation just prior to promotion. It gives them a chance to see the pulpit area up close, touch the instruments, get a look at the baptistry and meet the church staff.
"WE PROTECT OUR CHILDREN" (Child Protection Policy)
- We select qualified teachers through a confidential application
- Security background checks are performed
- Teachers must be members of our Bible Fellowship and/or church for at least six months prior to serving in extended session or as a children’s teacher
- Children’s classes are staffed by two teachers
- All teachers wear identification badges
- Parents are given pagers for children left in the care of our loving nursery workers
- We will enlist a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard for all swimming/water sports activities for our children
- Parents must identify their child's swimming ability before the child can participate in the swimming activity
Once a parent is cleared by the Safety and Security Committee, he/she is asked to help care for children during Sunday morning worship. A schedule is prepared by the Children’s Minister and coordinators every 6-8 weeks. Parents are requested to serve 3-4 times a year for each child in extended session (for a maximum of 2 children). Volunteering for any additional times as well as holiday duty is most appreciated.
Preschool Children’s Church
Children in Preschool C are invited to participate in Children’s Church. At a designated point in Morning Worship they all depart to hear an age-specific message in story form. Parents are asked to share in supervising on a rotating basis.
Child Care
(for Music Ministry participants and other church programs)
Child care is provided for all rehearsals and performances as scheduled by the Music Ministry for all children, babies through grade 6. Child care coupons are available for designated church events. Contact the Children’s Minister for more information.

Music education is followed by missions education classes.
Missions education is vital in our church. Age-graded programs for boys and girls meet from 6:15-7:00 p.m. The programs include:
- R.A.s (Royal Ambassadors) for boys in grades1-6
