I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduating from Berry College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, I moved to Fort Worth, TX to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I received a Masters of Divinity degree. I also earned a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Beeson Divinity School. Prior to serving at SHBC, I served at Glynwood Baptist Church in Prattville, AL, and Mount Zion Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL.

My wife Laurie and I have been married since 2000, and we have 3 wonderful sons: Alex, Brett, and Caleb. I enjoy being outdoors, reading, playing all games, and cheering on my boys as they play a variety of sports!

I am passionate about helping people grow in their relationship with God, their relationship with the body of Christ, and their evangelistic relationship with the world.

I am from Mobile, Alabama. My husband, Tim, and I have been married 18 years, and we have two children, Timothy and Megan, that are both active in the SHBC youth group!

I attended the University of South Alabama and completed B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in Early Childhood Education. I taught elementary school for 6 years, and after my children were born, I volunteered with PTAs and SHBC Children’s Ministry.

I am passionate about seeing children come to know God in a very real way as they begin a life-long relationship with God. SHBC is where my family has grown up, and it’s a privilege to serve here and give back just a portion of what this church family has given to us.

My childhood home was Tupelo, MS. After graduating The University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Music, I received a Masters in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. My last semester in seminary I married a wonderful lady, Pat Rowan Richey. We have two daughters, Laura Allyson Richey Miller and Abby Richey.

My desire is for people to see God as the loving Father he is. I want people to understand that God is pursuing them out of love for them. He truly desires a relationship with them.

I think of Spring Hill as family. It is a family that shows grace, gives encouragement, instruction, and demonstrates genuine love. This family has helped me develop both as an individual and a minister since 1983. Spring Hill is home.
