Our Pastor
Dr. Paul Sands has been Pastor of Spring Hill Baptist Church since January 2011.
Before coming to Spring Hill, Dr. Sands was Associate Professor of Theology at the George W. Truett Seminary at Baylor University. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University (B.S.), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A. in Theology, with honors), and Baylor University (Ph.D.). Before joining the faculty at Truett, Dr. Sands taught in the religion department at Baylor and at Southwestern Seminary.
Paul and his wife, Linda, have been married for thirty years. They have three daughters, Kristin, Allison, and Lauren — all of whom live in north Texas. Shortly after coming to Spring Hill, Paul and Linda added a son-in-law to the family, as Kristin married Tommy Van Wolfe of Waco, Texas.
Paul and Linda enjoy spending time with family and friends, riding bicycles, reading, and traveling. During football season, they pull for the LSU Tigers — though they haven’t made an issue of it since moving to Alabama! They love pecan pie, Texas barbeque, seafood, and dark roast coffee — the stronger, the better.
